EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) can be used alone or integrated with other therapies to treat trauma, reduce symptoms, and provide significant psychological and somatic relief for clients. EMDR targets specific memories and reminders of trauma and combines cognitive, emotional, and somatic processing with neurological stimulation to reduce the levels of distress and continuing influence caused by these incidents. Ultimately EMDR provides a pathway to integrate these original traumas into an adaptive and resilient perspective, allowing us to become unstuck from old patterns and experience freedom from past pain in our present lives. I have found EMDR to be an incredibly effective and powerful tool for healing in therapy, both as a provider and a recipient.
I am EMDR Certified through the EMDR International Association and an EMDRIA Consultant-In-Training with Jocelyn Fitzgerald, LMFT. More information about EMDR, its history and research, and what typical EMDR can sessions look like can be found on the EMDRIA webpage.
EMDR INTENSIVES offer an alternative to the typical 50 minute therapy session, instead providing a prolonged immersive experience focused entirely on EMDR. An EMDR intensive can accelerate the process of trauma processing and healing, allowing you to experience integration and relief sooner. I offer intensives in varying increments including a 1/2 day, whole day or multi-day options. Fees and structure are as follows:
Initial Intake and Planning, 2 hrs: $400
Half Day, 3 hrs: $750
Full Day, 5 hrs + 1 hr midday break): $1400
Multi-day options upon request
Optional 60-90 min follow-up: $200-250
*Intensive fees are due at time of scheduling, following the initial intake.
